Pastel Premier is a unique 100% cotton archival quality sanded pastel paper that is double-primed with an exclusively made aluminum oxide coating to produce an idea surface for pastel drawing. A final seal coat makes the paper extremely durable and able to withstand any measure of scrubbing and re-working. The base paper is a heavy 145 lb. (300 gsm). It can also be used with oil and acrylic paints, colored pencils and other dry media. Pastel Premier is available in three surfaces: medium fine, fine and extra fine. The medium fine (320 grit used for Italian Clay – warm neutral gray) and fine (400 grit used for white – slightly buff) have a very similar gritty surface. The extra fine is a 600 grit surface that is smoother and available only in white. The medium fine and fine surfaces accept as many as 25 layers of pastel.
